Science & Art Station

A magical blend of hands-on creativity and natural exploration. This station is crafted to encourage open-ended discovery using the materials and environment around us.

Encourage scientific thinking through questioning, observing, sorting, and testing with magnifying glasses, bug viewers, seed sorting trays, nature ID cards, balance scales, child-safe microscopes. Simple experiments like seed sprouting in jars, soil comparisons, or “mud kitchen chemistry” (mixing water, soil, sand, herbs). Wind sock, rain gauge, thermometer, cloud chart, sun dial. Leaves, petals, sticks, clay, acorns, bark, and homemade plant dyes. Child-safe scissors, glue, natural brushes, paint made from soil or berries, wood rounds, canvas scraps, and paper. Activities like leaf rubbings, mud painting, nature weaving, or ephemeral land art (Andy Goldsworthy-style). Pressing flowers, making nature mobiles, seed mandalas, or collaborative mural panels from foraged materials.
