The future will be shaped not only by what children are taught, but by what they experience.
When children grow food, care for animals, prepare meals, explore forests, and contribute to their communities, they develop confidence, responsibility, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging.
This is where stewardship begins.
Reconnecting Children, Food, Land & Community
The Root & Rise Outdoor Program exists to reconnect children and families with food, land, and community through outdoor education, regenerative agriculture, and hands-on experiences.
What began as a humble vision has grown into an eight-acre living classroom where children learn through gardens, forests, animals, food, and meaningful contribution.
Today, demand continues to grow.
Our next chapter is about expanding access, strengthening infrastructure, and creating a model that can inspire communities far beyond our farm.

At the Root & Rise Outdoor Program, children learn by tending gardens, caring for animals, preparing food, walking forest trails, observing ecosystems, and contributing to daily life on the farm.
The child who carries an egg learns gentleness.

The child who helps prepare a meal learns gratitude.
The child trusted with responsibility discovers their own capability.

Grow Root & Rise Outdoor School and ecological programming for children and youth while increasing access through scholarships and field experiences.

Create all-season learning and gathering spaces including a yurt classroom, geodesic dome, outdoor kitchen, café, playscapes, and expanded market garden.

Train educators, deepen school partnerships, and develop a replicable framework for future Root & Rise micro-campuses.
