Summer Camp
ROOT & RISE
This summer, let childhood be wild, grounded, and connected to nature.
Root & Rise Summer Camp offers morning farm sessions for ages 3 to 7, where children grow food, cook meals, explore natural ecosystems, care for animals, and build lifelong confidence through meaningful work and unstructured nature play. We’re not just filling summer days — we’re cultivating capable, connected young humans.

Build simple bee baths & pollinator habitat
Strawberry harvest + garden tasting
Seed starting & companion planting
Water play through irrigation systems (build-your-own drip channels)
This week grounds kids in stewardship and ecosystem awareness.
-
Strawberry season, longer days approaching solstice.
Focus :
Solar energy exploration (shadow tracking, sundials)
Soil science: compost, worms, decomposition
Strawberry harvesting + simple outdoor cooking
Water conservation games
Sun safety + natural shade building
You can frame it around “how the sun feeds everything.”
-
Warmer weather = water exploration time.
Focus:
Watersheds & where our water comes from
Macroinvertebrate study (if you have access)
Water engineering challenges (dams, canals, water wheels)
Evaporation experiment
Daily water play tied to physics concepts
This week leans into curiosity + engineering.

-
Hot, dry patterns; possible summer storms depending on region.
Focus:
Build simple weather stations
Cloud identification

Fire ecology (age-appropriate discussion)
Wind engineering (kites, wind-powered builds)
Water play through “cooling systems” challenges.
While the rhythm of our mornings stays consistent, the experiences change week to week. New themes, new projects, and new farm adventures ensure that children remain engaged, challenged, and excited to return.
